Q
| Is
Fraser Lands Church a separate church,
distinct from Vancouver Chinese Alliance
Church (VCAC)?
|
A
|
No. Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church is a multi-site church.
VCAC consists of three locations: the original one located
on Knight Street (Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church)
and a second site located on SE Marine Drive in the
Fraser Lands area of Vancouver (Fraser Lands Church). The third location is in North Burnaby.
Knight Street, Fraser Lands, and North Burnaby are ONE church (VCAC) meeting in multiple locations. They are connected in ministries, finance,
administration and staffing. There is only one Elders
Board to conduct the affairs of all three sites.

|
Q
| If I
am not a member of VCAC, can I be married
there?
|
A
|
Only members of VCAC are
allowed to rent church facilities for a wedding. If
one half of the party is a member of VCAC, and the other
is a Christian, then the renting of church facilities
will be allowed. Couples to be married
need to contact one of the pastors at least nine months
prior to the wedding so that they can take and complete
a premarital counseling
course. Please
contact one of the Pastors for a more detailed explanation
of the process for weddings at VCAC.

|
Q
| How
do I join VCAC?
|
A
| If you
are currently a member of an evangelical
church and have been baptized by water immersion, you need to fill out a "Transfer of
Membership" form. A letter of
recommendation from your previous church
will also be required. All applicants would need to take the membership class (2 sessions). Pastors will
interview and approve all such applicants
before accepting them as a member of
VCAC.
If you
are not yet a Christian, then you first
need to accept Jesus Christ as your
personal Saviour and Lord. And if you are already a Christian but have not yet been baptized, then you will need to take Christianity 101 (a 12-session class offered 3 times a year during Sunday School). After completion, you can fill out a "Baptism" form. Then you will need to
complete the membership class (2 sessions) and undergo a
brief interview. After water baptism, you
will then officially become a member of
VCAC.
